Model "T" Ford
On October 1st 1908 Henry Ford rolled out his first Model T Ford motor car and during the next 19 years he would go on to produce 15,000,000 vehicles sporting the "Model T" engine. With the exception of the Volkswagen Beetle, this is the longest production run of any single vehicle model the world has ever seen. The familiar design was only changed in 1927 in response to increasing competition, by which time Ford was producing a vehicle every 27 seconds! This unprecedented production capacity secured the company's future and its place in history.
